Sermorelin is a synthetic hormone peptide that is similar in structure to a growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH). Growth Hormone is required  for normal growth, bone development and regulatory effects on protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. As we age, growth hormone and insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels decline.  Sermorelin is utilized to optimize growth hormone levels in adults while increasing levels of IGF-1.  This medication is used at night which stimulates the pituitary gland to release more natural growth hormone.  

Sermorelin is not to be used if you have a history of endocrine disorders (thyroid/pituitary). You cannot take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as it is unknown whether this medication passes through breast milk. You cannot take this medication if you have Benign intracranial hypertension (BIH), diabetic retinopathy, or any form of cancer. 

Common side effects

• Injection site reactions: Pain, redness, and swelling at the injection site are the most frequent side effects.
• Headaches: Reported by some individuals, particularly in the initial phases of therapy.
• Nausea: Temporary feelings of sickness may occur.
• Dizziness: Lightheadedness can be experienced, especially early in treatment.
• Flushing: A sensation of warmth or redness, especially in the face and neck, can occur after injection.
• Fatigue or Sleep Issues: Adjustment to increased HGH levels might disrupt sleep patterns.
• Joint Pain or Stiffness: Increased HGH can lead to fluid retention, causing discomfort in the joints. 

Rare or less common side effects

• Allergic reactions: Symptoms can include itching, difficulty swallowing, rash, hives, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, and swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue. Seek immediate medical attention if these symptoms occur.
• Hormonal imbalances: Excessive HGH stimulation may affect other hormone levels.
• Blood Sugar Effects: Can influence insulin sensitivity and blood sugar levels, especially for individuals with diabetes.
• Mood Changes: Emotional fluctuations, anxiety, and irritability are possible.
• Trouble sitting still (restlessness).
• Changes in taste.
• Pale skin (pallor).

Sermorelin is generally considered a safe and well-tolerated therapy, especially when prescribed and monitored by a qualified healthcare professional. It works by stimulating the pituitary gland to produce and release the body's own growth hormone (HGH) in a more natural way, rather than introducing synthetic HGH directly. This mechanism reduces some of the risks associated with direct HGH injections, such as potential hormonal imbalances or overstimulation. 

Sermorelin is not currently available as an FDA-approved drug product. It may be prescribed by licensed healthcare providers for off-label uses such as treatment of age-related growth hormone insufficiency. Compounded medications are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality in the same way as approved drugs. We only utilize 503a and 503b FDA-compliant facilities
