On average, our clients begin losing weight within the first week. Results vary and are not guaranteed. Determining factors for variability includes client's health status, comorbidities, diet and exercise regimen.

Semaglutide (the active ingredient in Ozempic) is used to treat type 2 diabetes and now FDA approved for obesity. It is used together with diet and exercise to help control your blood sugar, slow down gastric motility and decrease hunger. It is also used to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death in patients with type 2 diabetes and heart or blood vessel disease. Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. Semaglutide is a once a week injection. Dosage increase will be dependent on clients'[ responses, side effects, and goals.

Tirzepatide (the active ingredient in Mounjaro) is used to treat type 2 diabetes and is now FDA approved for obesity. Similar to Semaglutide, it is used together with diet and exercise to help control your blood sugar and reduce appetite. Unlike Semaglutide, Tirzepatide is a dual agonist for the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptors. This medication leads to greater glycemic control as well as weight reduction. Tirzepatide is a once a week injection. Dosage increase will be dependent on client responses, side effects, and goals.

AlphaGenics does not dispense or sell any medications. However, the health care provider may prescribe name brand FDA-approved GLP-1medications when clinically appropriate. There is a $150 monthly fee for medical oversight. This includes the written prescription from the provider. The cost of the medication would be the responsibility of the patient and is separate from the monthly fee. 

Semaglutide and tirizepitidc would be contraindicated in those with normal/below normal BMI, eating disorder, gallbladder disease, drug or alcohol abuse, recent bariatric surgery, pancreatitis, medullary thyroid cancer, currently pregnant or breastfeeding, planning to become pregnant, Diabetic retinopathy, Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2, family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma. 

Phentermine is a stimulant similar to an amphetamine prescribed as part of a short-term plan which includes diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes. Use of this medication requires close monitoring by a health care provider as it is a schedule IV controlled substance due to risk of addiction and abuse.

Phentermine is generally safe when used under medical supervision and for short durations. It is a stimulant and may not be appropriate for individuals with certain medical conditions. Common side effects include: increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, insomnia, restlessness, dry mouth, constipation, nervousness or anxiety and fatigue with abrupt discontinuation regardless of short or long term use.

Use of phentermine would be contraindicated in those with the following medical conditions: Pregnant or breastfeeding, heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, history of stroke or heart attack, pulmonary hypertension, severe anxiety/agitation or other uncontrolled psychiatric disorders, and history of drug abuse or addiction.
